Was toying with replacing the radio/CD player as phone (for music ) is linked in via an FM modulator which seems to pick up a bit of interference and plays havoc with normal radio reception.

Any recommend a unit that's a straight swap but can accommodate an aux input for phone or USB, would be nice to play a CD that does jump on every bump to.

Cheers all.

Dunno how often they come in, but I got a cheap no-name radio with aux for £39.99 from Aldi for my lads Fiat runaround a few years ago .. and it's excellent! It's running on a crappy original Fiat radio aerial and has no issues at all. It runs music from my phone or my old ipod, with an aux lead, perfectly. It came with a hed-load of connectors and was pretty easy to swap .. No idea how easy for a Defender, sorry ... ;)

Defenders are really simple, any one from halfords etc should fit. It's just awkward to fit the adaptors that fit behind the stereo. I've got a Sony one in at the moment, but preferred the JVC one I had before that
