Q plate??

this is one that should of been on a Q, plate..... but wasn't... so i sold it on again

I don't think it will, assuming difflock off and in neutral.

However on RRCs there is a plate on the dash that says something like 'Not to be used on rolling road or disconnect propshaft first'.

I think this actually relates to a chassis dynonometer rolling road not brake rollers but I've never yet met a tester who is prepared to risk it if you say 'you break, it you fix it'

As far as the chassis number thing goes, I have a VIN plate on the slam panel but no number on the chassis. I just give the tester the old MOT or the log book

I know you posted this a whist ago but last year I had the same problem on a series 3 that I bought for my husband although I did have the chassis number. I used this (but I believe you can use any sort of vehicle number) and contacted the Archive Services – Heritage Motor Centre Museum, Gaydon Warwickshire they will (for a charge) supply certificates to help with applying to the DVLA for age appropriate plates etc. Its a lengthy process but worth it as a Q plate is a pain.
