I think that is because you can't get them new. The wings, which you can buy new again, have come down in price second hand,I just had a look at the bay and a crap one is £400!!!!!

Lots of ally missing, had to fudge behind it so i could still bolt it down. It's likely worse with having sat for a while tooSo more the support members underneath than the alloy skin?
Not certain, but those might be the same as the supports on a Defender, and they are avaialble.
.
Most alloy panels for these are available new again now, not sure about tubs.
If it is under cover, it probably hasn't gone much worse. It is getting wet that really sets off the corrosion, which is caused by alloy and steel close together. So when you rebuild it, if you put plastic, or any insulating material, between the parts, it doesn't happen again.Lots of ally missing, had to fudge behind it so i could still bolt it down. Thats why I didn't want to stick it on the drive and not insure itCheck the conditions for the valued bit/clause, some companies insist it is covered/garaged or parked off the road.
Being a 58 in decent nick, says to me it has to have an agreed value of 10k minimum.
Fair enough. I haven't seen them for sale, but then I haven't really looked.New tub is over 2k
Getting we isnt too bad, as long as its in the open and the air can dry it outIf it is under cover, it probably hasn't gone much worse. Serious money! and plus postage, and it needs assembly, and painting!
Think my lil 'gonzo' has just gone up in priceSerious money! and plus postage, and it needs assembly, and painting!
No wonder good whole vehicles sell so well now!
Not complaining, couldn't bear to part with mine though. Part of the family2a's seem to rise in value by the month. 5k wouldn't buy anything decent
