I have a 1987 Ford Expedition.
My bud made the error of putting three quarts of oil over the fill mark.
It ran fine for about a week then the engine light came on.
Thats when I checked and found out what happend.
I immediatly removed the excess oil, but it didnt help.
Now, when the car gets warmed up it starts to choke.
When you come to a stop or close to it the car starts to "cough" and
stalls out.
What should I do?
I did some research and it says it could be fouled plugs, the air
filter...or a bad fuel pump.
I dont want to go to a auto repair shop without seeing if I can do
something first.
Thanks for you input and help...

Ouch.....

If the oil foamed up and starved the bearings for oil, you are seeing
your engine trying to seize up.

I wish you luck.

I hope you've pulled the plugs off by now to see if they ARE fouled.
Replace them, replace the air filter and try it out.

I also hope you did not drive it hard or fast during that week when it was
overfilled.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

not likely related but sounds like mine when the ignition module started to
go,
replaced it and all was well (if its a v8 dont think 3 extra quarts is that
bad if you didnt beat it to hard :)
