I ain't worrying .. He only knows it was an internet forum .. he certainly wasn't close enough to the vehicles to get either sticker names, LZ being a prominent name amongst A N Other groups, or number plates .. hence why I'm curious as to whether it actually was us ...

Unless he's just in the pub and giving it large after a few beers about buggers tearing up his land and having a general moan and groan ...

may well be some one else ,but driving over private land as track is undriveable isnt right ,though in the dry no one would know ,in the wet with ruts would boil my **** if it was mine

And a few more....

Sorry, I don't understand. We were on the trip, though possibly a different route, even though we met another party from 'the trip' a couple of times or more, so we definitely followed at least some of 'the trip' route ...

Spoil what whole thing Sue, I don't get you ..

Honestly Paul if you did your own route and this gets us a bad name its not good. We modified the route slightly but only to cut out a lot of tarmac for one lane.

One of the best things about the weekend was the excellent relationship with locals and the walkers. They smiled and chatted, a couple of groups even followed us across one lane and kept cheering us on when we did the hard bits. Zip stopped to help a mountain biker who fell off as well. We thought it was an excellent PR exercise for laning as well as a fantastic trip.

We only knew the track was undriveable when he pointed it out! It was completely invisible unless it were pointed out to you ... Next time I'm up there I'll get a picture .. ;)

We thought we were on the track. You went through a gate, to follow the original track you should take a sharp left then right within a few yards .. but the walls to each side of this bit were knocked down, and the trees/bushes were just there across the track! .. There were faint vehicle tracks directly ahead of us, so these were followed.

Looking at the 1:25000 OS maps at home now, knowing _exactly_ where we were, doesn't show the 'dogleg' at the start, indeed it shows a right turn only, more closely following our exact direction of travel.

We made an honest mistake, ah well.

i think you turn back then

OMG Sarah those pics are brilliant. Cant believe I went up those rocks in the pics with Andy climbing them :eek::eek:

We are planning a return trip so Dave can go up there :D:D I did laugh when you kept saying how much you were missing him :D:D:D:D:D

We didn't do my route, I had no input to it ..

Do you think we meant to get it wrong?

Don't you think we also had cyclists and others wave to us .. well, we were in clouds a lot and snow a bit, so not many, but they were there!

How will it get us a bad name? The farmer we met never even saw any number plates let alone LZ stickers, he NEVER WENT NEAR THE VEHICLES, so how could he give 'us' a bad name.

Sorry Sue, you're sounding self-righteous now.

We made a mistake, we'll live with it. I'm happy to own up to it knowing we actually did feck all 'real' damage to any decent, useful and useable farm land .. OK, it _isn't_ our land and the guy was right to be ****ed at us, but when he left us he was quite happy!!

Thanks sue...and yes I did really miss Dave! ....So when we going back:D !!

does trailwise show any use? some of the unused lanes in wales are so overgrown you can't see them, blockages are to be expected

When?

Have you read what I posted?

We saw a track, followed it through a gate, half way through some of us near the front waited for others when the farmer came, he asked some to turn back and some to carry on. Those not at the gate to turn back, those through carry on .. We only knew it was wrong after the fact.

Even now, on 1:25k map it looks like we did it right .. after all, thinking about it now, who's to say the farmer told us correctly? Who's to say he's not just ****ed that a Byway crosses his piece of scrub marsh land and people can come and go as they want?

Just trying to look, but got a few things on the go right now .. ;)

I need to get down the workshop , have been buying oils and filters today- maybe we can all get together and sort something out:D

Workshop or pub meet is on Saturday night. Going to organise it on our thread in a minute

you need 4 monitors ;)

Yeah, I'll borrow me sons computer .. he has a few .. I'm on the laptop.

Trailwise does actually say "4x4 use from North to South only please" It is a request only though ...

As I said earlier, this is all after the fact, we screwed up a tiny bit, ****e happens .. I won't lose sleep over it.
