LOL Andy I wasn't going to mention the reversing :eek::eek::eek: Now someone else will so I might as well own up to the lot :D

I had some sort of mental block about driving anything other than forwards this weekend. After the first lane I had to back up a few feet on tarmac. The first try I climbed a huge boulder on the side with my back wheel, pulled forward and then backed into the ditch :D:D:D:D

Before anyone else comments I also couldn't park at the Docs or turn around at the top of Parkamoor :eek:

So huge thanks to Zip for the Gdhaydock valet parking service this weekend :D:D:D:D

But I actually thought the crowbar gear changing was quite cool :p:D:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

I think we need 10 pages of cake, M&S Sandwiches and gate descriptions

I'll start with the cake

And for those that didn't get there the view from the top of Parkmoor :D

..Cheers! :p Given more daylight time, and VERY patient people & spotters due to me going into rock crawling mode, I'll give Parkamoor a go some time ;)

So whereabouts does one turn around? I've since watched a youtube vid where some KTM crossers go up Parkamoor - they stopped to take a pic at what looked like a good spot to turn around, but they carried on for a fair distance afterwards, only stopping when they got to a gate at the edge of a wood.

we turned here Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions where it splits and there is a no vehicles finger post

edit... looking at the os map it seems the orpa goes a bit further to '244' but there is no where to turn http://binged.it/1fEwfca

and the crossers went too far if they reached the woods by 'set level'

edit2 lol
what I didn't know... the house at the end... its rentable!

I looked at that for our next trip

No electric, no running water, no phone signal and walking only access

Was talking to Zip last night and we decided that plumbing was essential :D:D and probably electric too but who would guess anyone would rent a cottage without either

I looked at that for next month! Sounds brilliant

:eek: What is brilliant about no proper heating, an outside loo, no shower, having a bath in the lounge, no internet, no phone and no electric :D:D:D:D:D

They should pay folk to stay there, its almost as bad as camping

And I love camping lol. Who needs plumbing? There's a well, a compost toilet, a stove. What more do you need?

Central heating, En suite, TV, Internet, Phone, Lights, Water, Pub you dont have to ask a taxi to get up Parkamoor to get home from :D , Breakfast made for you, a cigarette shop which doesn't involve a 3 hour walk

Do you want me to go on :D:D:D:D:D

Ah I can see we have very different needs. Well in my opinion sitting around a range in the middle of nowhere having a drink and a chinwag sounds much more fun. Plus you never know if there's a murderer or something lurking about outside in the pitch black, watching you through the window

PMSL Sue :pound: you have a point. However each to there own and sometimes people want to be castaways for a while ( not me, I might do remote, but it needs vehicular access )

Well you have a lovely time

Personally I like this one, you could sit in the hot tub for a chat and a drink instead. Although it is a bit short of Ensuites

Still you cant have everything I suppose

Bannerrigg, Windermere, Staveley and Troutbeck Bridge Holiday Cottage, Self Catering - Cumbrian Cottages

Oh and any self respecting murderer is far more likely to be peeping in the hot tub room than lurking at the top of Parkamoor :D:D:D:D
