I bought my 2000 RR 4.0 SE with only 1 key fob/blade and I'm so scared that I'll lose it! Where can I buy an additional set ? I have a locksmith who can program it for me. Everything on Ebay is just an empty case.

Take your V5C to a Land Rover main agent & they will sell you an original flip style key for about £250. I seriously doubt you're local locksmith can do what he says
There are probably used fobs on eBay etc but they can't be synced to your car

I broke a key blade on my golf a couple years back. Local locksmith options promise wonderful things with car keys heard they generally aren't much good so avoided.
Eventually found a guy that specialises in custom remaps, custom tuning, ECU tweaks etc as well as sorting car keys - so I knew he had good electrical knowledge of cars. Came out and cut a new blade for about £60. Was a nice chap and did a good job. Recommend looking for someone in a similar trade to above. If they can't sort a key out then they'll know someone who can.

Cutting a key blade and programming a key fob are 2 different skills entirely

He only cut a blade but he had all the gear to code new fobs if needed. Just saying it gave him credibility that he knew his way around car electronics - that might be something to look for when trying to find someone that can get you a new key.

I get the feeling the OP might be Stateside of the pond. Wales is a bit of a risk to post your only working key.
Main dealer is the only safe option. You'll need to tell them the key number from the back of the fob to make sure they don't issue the same number (the keys will keep kicking each other out of sync otherwise).
There are a few people who can clone the fob and fewer still that can take the code, work out the key number and then program or reprogram a fob with a different key number. The only one outside the UK that I know of is in New Zealand.

If you don't have the number on the key then you can use the seat memory to figure out our by which position it goes to when you unlock

when we bought a l322 from auction and it came without any keys we had a specialist locksmith come and cut a key and code it to the car

no but does mean it might be possible to have one coded to the car, p38s have been around a long time, long enough for the after market guys to have worked out how to do it

Nobody can code a key to a P38.
If the OP is in the US then they will have a 315MHz fob & genuine replacements are no longer available from a main dealer (unlike here in Europe where we have 433MHz fob & can still purchase new from Land Rover). In this case the only option is to send the fob to Les Edwards at CRNW (or have him them an RF grabber).

If thye OP can get the details of Lockset Barcode from LR, then Les can create a key (That's how he explained it to me). Otherwise yes it's send the key or "grabber", which he uses to create a key with different key number so it doesn't clash with the original

I'll add to that the fact that once a P38 FOB has been programmed, it cannot be reprogrammed.

I only had 1 key for my RRS L320 and was feeling uneasy about having no backup key. I bought a fob from a well known chinese site on the web for £15 - the whole electronics not just a fob case. A guy on ebay advertises he can cut a blade to a photo - £ 10,
and I have a Launch Creader Elite JL diagnostic tool with which I programmed 2 spare keys in about 10 minutes .
The local independent car key specialist had quoted me £200 for one key - cut and programmed to the car so I was pretty chuffed with myself for learning something new and saving money to boot.
