That's probably luck, no one could refurb one for that price.I got the last reconditioned one I fitted to my Disco from AutoSteer Direct. Still leak free after a few years. It was £150 on ebay.

It was a while ago. I paid £149 for it, and that included the output shaft reground. That's probably luck, no one could refurb one for that price.

That is good to know (brand not the old cheap price) as I am currently in the market for a refub box as the refurb job I did replacing the seals lasted about 6 weeks and now leaks worse then before! I was horrified at the price of a new box!I got the last reconditioned one I fitted to my Disco from AutoSteer Direct. Still leak free after a few years. It was £150 on ebay.

I tried finding them on eBay the other day and I don’t think they are on it anymore. I searched the internet though and they look as if they are still operating. I fitted two refurbed PAS boxes prior to using theirs and they both didn’t last long. I also tried new seals and like you, they leaked very quickly. I think if it happened again, I would consider the sleeves that are available from SKF.That is good to know (brand not the old cheap price) as I am currently in the market for a refub box as the refurb job I did replacing the seals lasted about 6 weeks and now leaks worse then before! I think if a refub box does the same I would consider a new one, but that really would be last resort! Would cost me the same as my galv bullhead did!I tried finding them on eBay the other day and I don’t think they are on it anymore. The one @KISSMYAURA linked looks like what I would go for. It’s usually the output shaft wear that caused the leak and the fact they are machining it back would sway it for me. I never looked, but they must be giving a decent guarantee on it if they are confident with their work.I think if a refub box does the same I would consider a new one, but that really would be last resort!
