I am looking at this on thursday night. Can someone advise me as to a rough guide price to its value please.

Its a 1990 Landrover 90 fitted with a 300tdi engine.

Comes with MOT till october and tax till the end of the month.

This will be my first time getting into off roading and cant wait. this looks like it might be just what I need.

The owner says its got a 4" lift kit, grizzly wheels, obviously a roof rack, snorkel, winch and uprated suspension and radius arms.

Heres some pics. Any help greatfully recieved!

Probably looking around £2300 if the chassis etc are solid...

I would have thought its worth £3K+ At the end of the day its worth what you will pay for it, if you get 'in the scene' and wait around im sure one will pop up withing 6 months for the £2K mark, im sure I could sell that one for over £3K though (providing its solid and with no faults)

Im also thinking about going to look at a Discovery 2 that is off road ready. From what I can gather you get more for yur money with a Discovery

I now have a disco 1 after many years of 90's, fenders and series...

I'm a fool.

Yes the Disco is comfy, roomy, easier to drive, better on fuel...but its not as much fun.

I may also have gone insane.

Discos are much better value than defenders, they are more comfy, quieter, easier to live with, more luxurious, hold the road better, cruise at better speeds, have more seats and more roomy. They will go 99% of the places 'fenders will go and cost the same to repair...

Defenders (in my opinion) are a bit over hyped, sure they are lighter and a tad shorter but that is all it has over a disco, same chassis setup, suspension e.t.c.

It's had a body lift, but he couldn't be bothered to lift the bumpers, which really makes it look amateurish to 'those who have a clue' .. it's also negated one good reason to body-lift properly, which is to increase attack and departure angles ... ;)

Which would also make me wonder how good any other mods he's done are, and how many corners he's cut to make it look the part and reasonable unless you know ..

All that has is tyres, bodylift and snorkle, other than that its standard, well except that chequer plate. The front bumper wont hold up against anything (its a standard one cut down by the looks of it). The suspension is standard and whilst it will do most stuff you would benefit from a lift and extra articulation.

But if its solid its not a bad price really, few bits done already for yah, I would like to spend another £1000 on suspension/bumpers before I would say its off road ready, thats my opinion though...

Right. Thats my mind made up then. I presume the 90 could be used as it is for pay and play. It is just my 2nd vehicle so its not as if I will be using it for any long journeys. Just the odd trip to work which is 3 miles each way.
