Hello, I replaced the glow plugs, tested the set that I took out and 5 out of the 6 were dead! She started first spin! But I have noticed that the glow plug symbol is a bit intermittent. So maybe the timer jobby is on its way out, any ideas peeps?

Glowplugs and light operation are engine temperature dependant.

What I meant was that the little orange trident/fork symbol has always worked. But since I have Replaced the glow plugs the regular glow plug light has started working. I presumed that the fact that the link was broken thus not putting the light on. So are you saying that the glow plugs won't come on when the engine is warm? What is the other symbol? is it an excess fuel symbol for starting?

The trident fork symbol as you call it represents an injector and it is the engine check lamp. Nothing to do with glow plugs. Should come on for a few seconds with ignition then after ECM ECU does it's internal checks go out. Glow lamp is a separate lamp that comes on when engine is cold and stays on a varying amount of time subject to temp read by ECU temp sensor. Could stay on 8 or 9 seconds in winter 4 or 5 seconds in summer.
