poorly sick and bad rangie

my 97 4.6 hse is not very well it will tick over no problem but when i try to drive it dies as soon as i take my foot of the gas then wont start for ages. AA man thinks its the airflow meter any one got any ideas please

You could test this - unplug the MAF/AFM and try it - if you get the same results, then it could be the issue.

AA man done that and it was still the same have bought secondhand tested unit off the dreaded ebay will see what happens thanx

Dont completely believe me on this but I think Ive heard of the same symptoms when the crank position sensor has died or been damaged. As said Im not sure on this one at all and cant find the info I need to back it up but have you checked this sensor??

thanx guys it was air flow meter fitted new one and all seems fine now
