My plenum sponge has disappeared! Don't think it was ever there when I bought the car and it certainly isn't now.

There's a rather good guide on how to replace it here: Intake plenum filter replacement (Range Rover 4.0/4.6/p38)

Prices seem to range between £6 and upwards which isn't a lot but then it is just a ****y piece of sponge and frankly £6 sounds quite a lot! Then I saw this:

Question is: what are the dimensions of the original? I think I'm better off just getting a large sheet of sponge and cutting them out as required as someone said they only last a year or two.

Cheers,

J

Did mine last year too, yes the trim bit are a pain in the backside and few rusty screws, must check it see how well its holding up.

That was it Alan, the clips pulled out of the trim the fun was getting them back in the right place and staying there to put it back, seam to remember a few cuts:(

Pop into your local aquarium/tropical fish shop and get a sheet of filter foam.
When I got mine a couple of years ago it cost £4.50 and when cut into strips there's was enough to to three disco plenum's.

The was three grades of foam at the time easy seen as they are different colours, you don't want to get the very dense one as it may restrict air flow into the heater
