I got the ECM out and sprayed it.. The m and s lights did go out but soon came back on..

What is the EAT ECU and the SLABS ECU??.. And where are they located??.. Is it worth spraying them??.. Although I think your right about it being the BCU..

This car is doing my head in..

the EAT ECU is the auto transmisiion ECU behind the center console i dont think it suffered...the SLABS(self levelling and abs) ECU is near the BCU...the M & S lights might be caused by water ingress in the XYZ switch or it's plug see this http://www.landroverclubvi.com/uplo..._manual_mode_light_illuminated_860403nasf.pdf

IF you haven't already done so, put your car battery on charge overnight. These cars are sensitive to a good supply of volts and if they don't get it, they throw their toys out.......................

Just give the battery a good long charge - what have you got to lose?
