sounds like the regulator then. Keep yer old one cos you can chuck a new regulator on it and then use it as a spare when you get back to the real world.

Oh and a handy hint....the lighter sockets what are supposed to be lockable are all well and good but the bottoms push out too easily. So if some woman say was to plug in a Tom Tom they will more then likely push the bottom out and you are left to strip the dash down to put it back in

so the moral of the story is to use a map cos tom toms are too much like hard work.
