I thought 3x3 meant 3 points on all 3 searbelts?

At least now i know i will need seats from a different model or even vehicle eeek

Cheers for the reply :)

You may be right in terms of 3 points of fixing, but you seem really concerned about this, I was just wondering why.

I know that in the last 5 yrs or so full 3 x lap & diagonal rear seatbelts have become more common, but it's not a deal-breaker surely?

We all survived beforehand didn't we?

Dave

PS I've just had a look on Ebay at some DII car adverts and it does looks as though DII's do have 3x3 seatbelts for the rear passengers, so maybe it would be a good idea to check some out in the carpark, when you next do your shopping? Don't know if the DII rear seats are a straight fit, into a DI though?

They are not a straight swap but I do know its been done before,I'm not to bothered its my mrs. When I bought our zafira I swapped the seats for the seat from a late '05 model otherwise she wouldn't let the kids in lol.

Anybody got any clues on the lights?

Your rear lights are correct for your 1998MY disco, stop at the top, then reverse and fog at the bottom with tail and indicator in the bumper.

The colour for a Safari limited addition is Epsom Green.

Can you be more specific, what and where is the problem?

Dave

Sorry but your mistaken the colour is actually highland green lol

See page two :) I might buy some of the fully working ones as the ones on the bumper are tiny lol.

Just been in halfords to buy some cleaning stuff (car smells funny, not bad but strange lol) and they have Epsom green which looks to dark for mine. Ill check out highland green :)

Yeah I already checked halfords and that was the only green I spotted,my mate manages a paint supply shop in southport and I've got Martin browns in blackpool so ill grt it from one of those :)

Found some holes in the o/s sill, didnt check the n/s as it will be the same, ill upload pics later for some advice but I thnk I could get away with patching them rather than replacing the whole sill.

Where exactly is the ecu that controls the rear windows?

Cheers again :)

Cheers jll have a watch of that when the little one gets off the iPad lol

My phone wont let me upload pictures, hmmm ill have to email myself and try that way.

Gave the disco a really good scrub inside and put all the covers in the wash, not gonna look any cleaner on the seats but hopefully they will smell better hehe

Right I've got some pics for your viewing pleasure lol

Not sure what's going on but it won't let me upload more than one pic. This is the worst bit where the sill meets the rear arch.

To be honest you're better off with just the carpet in place, no sound absorbing stuff at all. It just asks as a sponge and stays wet for years, nurturing rust along the way.

At least that way it's easier to keep an eye on the condition of the floor.

Dave

Got the window ecu out and it looks fine,no damaged solder points. The only thing I can see is the brown glue looking stuff has maybe shorted out two points (can it do that?) and a scratch which I did opening the case.

As for the sound proofing I'm going to take it all out, sort out any surface rust andjust have the carpet back in. Where does the water get in to soak under the sound proofing?

Cleaned up the ecu and its no different, still can't see any dodgy solder tho.

Got my multimeter on the connectors,n/s I get 12v with the up switch and less than 1v with the down switch.Couldnt get a reading the the o/s.

Woohoo :D

I redid I the solder on all of the contacts for the one relay that has issues and now the rear switches work, the front switches will go up but not down.I plugged the front switch into the rear connector and it worked so I'm going to strip the rear switches and take a look :)

And the downside I've misplaced the cover for the plastic ecu box and found some rust on the inner wing,I can get my screwdriver through it

All windows now fully working :beer2:

Next on the list is to fix the rev counter and fit the decat exhaust, egr blanking kit and electric fan.Going to try and do some tomorrow at college, will be loads easier with the ramps and I can get new nuts and bolts if needed :):)

Rev counter is dodgy connection on the back of the alternator. Simply pull off the female spade connector clean the male and squeeze the female a little tighter with some pliers and reconnect, all should be well:)
