Paternity leave.

Good evening to all and everyone.

I have had a weeks paternity leave after the birth of my little daughter so ive spent the week looking after her........er, well, a bit

. I actually made good use of the time off to fit a 2inch lift, bumper,wheels and tyres and snorkel on my old 200 disco. Ill beg the missus to put a picky or two on tomorrow cos im a thick twunt and cant do it mysel.

Congrats on the birth of your daughter,

I'm due to start 2 weeks Paternity in November maybe I should follow your lead and get some bits done on my disco.... There is a snorkel in the box waiting to be fitted along with diff guards and stealing guard.... Oh and the bottom bit of the bumper and end caps need removing

in the way of things in life I have 2 daughters,
1 @ 36. 1 @ 32, but a son @ 42.

do you recon I could claim back leave ??

as I still can find things to do on my disco, it Is a landrover after all..

I didn't realise blokes had time off for child birth, oh well I suppose it's a good time to get all those jobs out of the way. When my last son was born (nearly 30 years ago) there was no such thing as time off for the dads. Thank goodness for Landys, all those days you should be spending with your new born can be spent keeping the Landy on the road :biggrin1:

You also made very good use of your time off!

I'm due to start my paternity leave in a week or so, but we'll see when bump turns up!

I have a LOT of diy to do, and then I might be able to touch the 90 - not that it will be to fit loads of goodies like you!

There was no such thing as bloody silly paternity leave when my children were born, you just had to get on with it, work and all. And we managed just fine.

No! It was lieblair that had no ####ing idea of the real world who introduced paternity leave, no idea of the strain it placed on small businesses, no! wait a mo, he simply had no idea of anything, and we're paying the price right now.

But you freely admit to using your "paternity leave" to fix your Land Rover, that's not what paternity leave is intended for, is it.

Absolutely right, in the modern world the father is expected to help with the new bundle of joy, to help his wife/partner adjust to having the responsibility of caring for a new life, not playing with his bloody toy.

Yep is a joke especially with pay, Hell we would use paid vacation pay for that. Want time off for father ok take a week, but no pay. Cost business to much money and all the other people for increased cost of goods

nappies or oil change?

rattles or sorting rattles out on the Landy?

i've done all these things but know which were most rewarding

And if they got other kids take care of them, do cooking, washing dishes , doing laundry, clean and dust the house, wait on wife and kid like a good man servant
