Painting under the capping

you also need tape/isolator on the inside on the tub where the capping support gets riveted through the body so if you painting maybe worth coming down inside alot further than the front for this.
That is the side lip of the capping I am referring to above that I plan on putting a layer of tape along to isolate it form the inside of the tub. I have painted the inside of the tub down to the bottom of the barrel roll in the side similar to the outside.

I am wilfully not going to tiger seal the capping to the tub, the same as I did not do this on my hardtop. the reason for this was the previous person to do this job on my hard top did exactly that but did not use galv capping's so they still rusted away. To then remove them I had to drive a chisel under the whole length of the capping using a 6ft extension bar to split the capping from the tub. This also chewed up the tub lip in the process. Although I am hoping to not have to do the job again if I do do not want to destroy the tub in the process.
