hi guys
we finally found the problem with my motor
the water temp sensor was faulty, tellin the ecu the engine was cold, therefore it was overfuelling itself causing all my problems
there is 2 of these sensors on the passenger side of the engine. i changed the front 1 and simply disconnected the back 1
all good now

Not a good idea to run with the sensor disconnected.
The LR garage are obviously not too hot, a duff sensor should have shown up if they had looked at live data on the diagnostics.

well guys
i got a new water temp sensor a week ago and all my car probs have been solved.
it now runs smooth right from cold

many thanks to all who offered advice
