West wing I think
I would've though that airbags would be foolproof. I think I've been doing something basically daft. Having changed yet more leaking airbags and making sure the EAS unlock settings are well within the ranges specified, the motor is rising to 52cm and even 53 cm hub centre to arch. I try resetting everything to the minimum on each level within the ranges. I then get an incorrect target. So, I increase each level by 5 and standard still goes to 46.5cm. I know about the block method. I'm not asking about that. What I'm asking is, are the terrefirma shockers I've put on assisting lift in some way that It's possible to inflate the bags to bursting point? Further, once I've done that is there no way back ? I've renewed all sensors, once with britpart and again with standard issue. Even though the pump seems OK I'm pretty sure I'm wiping that out with it near constantly running. I've substituted ecu, driver pack and valve block plus overhauled it myself.I've renewed all airlines and compressed air receiver. I've read and inwardly digested the wammer report (the best around). The only thing left is the nut on the mouse. I know I'm trying everyone's patience here, but, I really do need some sense talking to me. Hope you're all OK. regs. P.

I cannot see the damper giving any lift. Its purpose is to slow movement by essentially pushing oil around. If it is the wrong damper it might be too long which would allow too much travel and could cause issues with the air-springs.

I'd go back to basics. Put her up on extended height after parking up, pull the delay-timer and then see where she's sat in the morning.

The shocks won't be lifting it as Grrrrrr has said.
There are only two ways it can be going too high.
1. Spurious readings from height sensors (put it on blocks and take the readings)
2. Air is leaking past the fill solenoids.

You need a known "actual" height reading from the sensors then you need to check whether it's actually going to that height or beyond.
Only then can you find out what's happening.

The block thing is where I came in. With my trusty 100mm (&105mm) blocks standard height is 49cm. That's when I read wammers guide. I ditched the blocks for the tape measure after I busted bag after bag. God knows how I'm getting into this mess. I'm resolved, as I'm advised to return to basics. I've ordered a brand new Dunlop pump. I'll get a pressure gauge into to receiver line, preset levels to to lowest readable and go from there. Previously, on high settings the bag joints were in view, bubbling away. Island are selling my terrafirma shocks as suitable for all P38'S. Not the extended ones I hasten to add. Thanks all. Happy traffic jams.

OK, but what are the sensor readings at 49cm with the blocks in place?
What are the actual readings when it gets too high.
Does eas unlock show status of the valves?
If so, does the valve close at target height but then suspension carries on or is the valve still being told to stay open?
If your target height is set to what you get on the blocks, the valves should close when it reaches that target.
You are entering the bit count as a target and not the measurement aren't you?

I am now, true. The valve sequence makes sense suddenly. The blocks, height readout and subsequent writing to ECU has got me into trouble. Extended, I remember is 148 which still gets me up to 52cm +. The very reason I'm using the bit readout as a target. I'm still a beginner at this which is why I'm dropping clangers. I'm following wammers and data to the letter. I've lit that BBQ and am about to open a chilled bottle of homebrew. I'll restart in a more applied fashion when the bits come and follow advice to the letter. Thanks again.

When the bits arrive, if you want to to give me a call and I'll talk you through it, no problem.
Just drop me a pm and I'll give you my mobile number.
It's pretty simple but sometimes nice to have someone lay it out.

Blimey. What am I supposed to say to that? You'll probably see what I'm doing wrong straight away. That's really damned nice of you. Best regards Peter.

I just tried to send you a message but it won't let me. You will have to message me instead.
I try to operate on a "pay it forward" basis.
If I help someone, they will pass on the knowledge to others. That's what it's all about (plus lots of mickey taking into the bargain!!!)

I must need to edit my profile stuff to allow PM's. You're all correct. I did start with the block thing as directed. Since then I've just been so wrapped up in what MUST be a leak somewhere. There's nothing left on the whole shooting match that I haven't replaced, re-replaced or substituted from the ECU through everything to the dratted airbags. It looks like I'm left with a bubbling rear nearside airbag which has been nowhere since I replaced it. Thus, I've simply lost the plot prodding and poking around. Off we go again. To think I replaced the whole lot on my mum's drive 10 years ago and just pressed go!! I'll get the bits and get into organised mode, find a way of tracking wazzajnr down (Is "start a conversation" the same as private messaging? I'm blowed if I can find a dummies guide to private messaging), get it cracked and light the biggest BBQ and put on copious amounts of homebrew down on the beach for the Landyzone brethren. By the way, I've done just about every job known to man on my ratbag and continuously clock the posts on here. It's amazing after all I've done, how clueless I am. If I can answer a question (pay it forward) you can bet your life it's been answered by the masked men. Do they sleep? Are they cyborgs? Is it all just a clever call centre, computerised somewhere in the south seas? Matron takes my computer off me at lights out or I'd stop up in wait to trump the masked men. Regs. P.

OK men. This is day one. A new day. A wazza day. I'm posting this so everyone knows what he's doing for me. I'll get into conversation with him this morning. This is my starting point. ......Up on 100mm blocks LF 50cm sensor 127. RF 51cm sensor 132. LR 50cm sensor 116. RR 51cm 117. I tried to hold pressure back with the pump but it burnt my thumb.edit. running it cold. Can hold thumb on outlet easily. Air's going somewhere I can hear. I dismantled it and the piston seal flew into the bore. They're usually a faff. Got new pump and rear airbag coming with a pressure gauge and tee. I'm re-sealing the existing pump for spare. I'm doing nothing else until wazzas on the case. Watch this space. I've gotta find double O 322 now to get his phone card. He's the only friendly orderly in here.
