I've really got the pip, now. I wrecked all bags riding on the bumps. I fitted them in 2007. Coincidentally I had fusebox meltdown. I made a bore of their replacement blowing one up and then careless fitting. I'm now on yet another set and I've got a leak nearside rear. Naturally the pump is overworking. There are bubbles around the crease but the liquid running off bubbles big time around the axle plate. I really made a meal out of fitting these perfectly. I've replumbed all airlines, renewed air tank, valve block and driver. I switched ECU but the battery went dead overnight so I switched back again. Retrospectively SHOULD the battery have deadened with leak? and I've put a faulty ECU back in that's doing something to the bags? My ECU is RQT100040. the one I'm fitting in its place is ANR 4499 which has supplied as interchangeable. I'm about to switch the ECU back again and replace the offending bag. (When I had the last leak I replaced both on that axle so I've got one good one. I don't know which it is till I fit it! Happy days) I need help in a big way here. Magic wands anyone? I can see I've worn out my welcome and not surprisingly. Everything to do with EAS has been addressed. Thankyou. I've got two bags leaking. Front and back. OK, I'm a rank amaetuer but have I made a shambles of 9 air bags? Two, yes. I hold my hand up. Put the car in extended. Axle stands under the chassis. Jack the axle enough to remove the wheel. Pop the airline. Remove top and bottom R clips or 13mm bolt, pin and top clips. Insert new bag and raise axle sufficiently to reinsert fixings. Shove in airline having trimmed a bit off for a new bite. Ensure bag is neither extended or compressed. Run the engine momentarily to introduce air but not expand. Put the wheel back on and check for twisting and correct fixing install. Run the engine a bit more to harden the bag. Jack body up and remove stands. Lower body but hardly fully. Start engine with STD height selected lowering the jack for the bag to take the weight. Where am I going wrong, please. Island say to return the bags for the manufacturer to check but they hold the trump card. I haven't got the weight to dispute them. Could I possibly have had a bad batch? My first attempt lasted 10 years. But, thankyou all, anyway. Regards. P.

What makes you think it is leaking?
 
Done the shock thing much earlier on. All the leaks were definitely. I'm now a leak detector first class. Inexperience again. As I'd replaced the bags I made the schoolboy error of believing them to be airtight thus looking elsewhere. I overhauled my valve block and because I'm such a twit, didn't trust it. I replaced everything out of sight with the same symptoms reappearing constantly. STILL the bags were leaking. They're not now. Switched height sensors. There was always a deficit on the front nearside. Lastly I put my own valve block back on and voila. The pump cut out pretty well immediately. You blokes should go to the top of the class and give the slate rags out. Thanks yet again.
 
I'm unsure of the theory attached to shockers. You've mentioned it before and I double checked that I hadn't mixed them up. Coincidentally, my airbag hell manifested itself after fitting terrafirma shocks. Not the adjustable nor the extra reach. I haven't latched on to how they could potentially affect the EAS. If you can fit it in between fielding the sunami of posts I'd be interested in knowing. Very best regards. P.

One set is longer, the front, I think. If the fronts go on the back or the shock are too long at the back then the range of travel will be further than the bag was designed to take and the cap might be pulled off. MrGorsky had some old shocks lying around until about a week ago otherwise we could have got him to measure what the OEM shocks max travel was.

Most of us on here just followed Datatek's guide. Given we've all managed it I doubt you could have cocked it up unless there is something we are missing.
 
I have had a learing bag from Island and they replaced it.
It looked like it had a cut in it from a blade of some sort maybee they were cut in the packaging process but Island are pretty good with their returns
 
We'll, it must be something to do with the shockers. I thought I'd sorted and leaving the the rear nearside bag went bang. I checked the codes on front and back and the ones I checked were correct. They're coming off now. There must be a height sensor anomaly as no matter what I input the extended goes to 52cm and standard is 48cm on the lowest of the range. I had cheapos on before these terrafirma and if I haven't mixed them up that's what's going back on. You pay to learn. Report coming up. Regards.p.

Not the adjustable nor the +2"The labels are still legible. 09BT-02, TF126 On rear. 07AT-09 on front,could these shockers be having more effect on level sending than simply shock absorbing. They are having quite an effect on the ride. I've just about had it now. Has anyone else fitted these? Regards. P.

If the axle is hung to change bags, wrong shockers at rear could cause sensors problems. The front shocks have 2" longer travel than the rear ones. Standard Boge shocks are best in my view.

I had Terrafirma on the back when I got mine. I got rid of them as they were terribly firm. Fitted Boge. Much better and not that expensive from Island.
 
OK. I'm ready to be banished to range rovers.net ! I :mad: I went to take the top bolt out of the rear shocks and they were finger tight. It looks like they missed the eye into the bargain! I'm pretty sure I'd done my favourite trick of shoving the top R clip UNDER the chassis bowl. Sure to create an UXB. Nailed everything together and the ride isn't trying to rise further than 47cm axle to arch. The drive is different again. Now, I've got matron to deal with she might be lenient as I've owned up. :mad::(:(:(
