p38 o rings

Water leaking into front o/s footweel Non r.r. garage diagnosed leaking o rings, and would not attempt to replace them. Suggested a r.r dealer would take about 24 hours labour to do this. Doom & gloom.
Any shortcuts before i put a match to this rubbish motor.

my auto electrican suggests there has been a recall for this, not sure how much truth is in it. Water leaks through a hole behind A Post? don't take this as gospel but someone might confirm this, unless its coolant that is.

I have the same problem, will be doing the job myself as soon as I get the time

As long as the clamp screw comes undone,(the clamp that holds the pipes into the matrix) then its not 2hrs work.All you need is a very long screwdriver - mines a snap on one that stays engaged in the screw while you change the rings.Minimal dismantling,both dog ears,window switch pack, ashtray,Hevac panel,instrument pack/surround,trim panel and lower trim panel and rh lower heater outlet.A good torch and the screwdriver passed through the front of the dash and you are away.A funnel made out of cardboard going into a bowl is all there is to it.
