I bought a none running p38 range rover vogue 4.6 running lpg. Thor engine
Was told it would turn over but not start.
Got it home it had spark & fuel.
Next job was a compression test.
None at all. The engine had been rebuilt at sometime not to long ago by the look of the parts but I guess not very well.
The engine had been stupid hot at some point as the knock sensors were melted.
Also had had a problem with a coil pack.
A ht lead had been burned out & around the spark plug was filled with ash.
So stripped it down & replaced a melted piston & a damaged liner.
Rebuilt the engine with new shells, rings etc
Now engine back in & wired up but wont start.
There is no spark at all.
Theres fuel going to the rail but stops at injectors.
1 thing I did notice on rebuild was the crank sensor connector had a piece of tin foil forced in, which I removed before plugging it back into the loom.
Now things ive checked
1, becm is syncronised
2, there is no break in wire from crank sensor to ecu
3, fuel relays
and a few other things.
So before rebuild had spark & fuel but no compression now compression but no fuel or spark.
Any ideas before I burn it.
