I assume it just writes a CSV type file to the SD card so you can then put it in a computer and plot the data ? From experience with other marquess I have found being able to plot the data in Excel very useful in fault finding, especially with things like MAF issues.

Don't believe there is any software to link to a computer other than for updating Firmware.

What I meant was if you can add a SD card to the unit for it to store data, surely the value of it would be to then place the memory card into a card reader in your PC to plot the data.

from the manual

SD CARD
The diagnostic data is stored on the SD CARD. The memory card must be inserted in the slot located on the top side of the unit.
The SD card must have a capacity less or equal to 8 GB following the latest Firmware update (Please note that the Nanocom will not
support SDHC cards)
The SD card must be formatted in FAT mode (Do not use FAT32 or NTFS format)
To format the SD CARD, insert it into the slot in the Nanocom.
Connect the Nanocom to the PC using the MINI USB cable supplied but without using any other power supply (car or external) and do
not touch the screen during this process.
Once the unit is connected the PC shows it as an external memory device in the resource manager. Click on it with the right button of
the mouse and select “Format” from the menu.
Select “FAT” and the “Quick format” options. Now click the “Format” button and wait until the screen tells you that the process is
complete. Ensure that you are looking at the SD card on the PC screen before formatting. If the SD card has NOT been recognised but
the Nanocom Evolution has connected you will see it reported as a flash memory device called NC_FIRMWARE.

During a diagnostic session, you can generate file reports of the data that you find. Note however that is only available if there is a
button with this icon
-The dynamic readings are stored in CSV files that you can open with EXCEL and you are then able to see the values in listed in
columns and also create graphic lines with them.
- The “Settings”, can be store in CSV format.
- The faults are stored in as a TXT file that can be opened with all text editors.
- The map files that are not copyright protected are stored in MAP format
- The map file protections are stored in TUN format

I noted further down the page on the BBS site 50 Euros for the unlock codes for the Nano Re the P38 ? Wats all that about ?

When you get your Nanocom you can choose say Motronic in the price. If you want to add EDC and Gems, it costs £42.00 each for the unlock codes. You can then work on the entire P38 range, any vehicle, unit is not locked to a Vin number.

Yeah you can then read from the SD card but the Nanocom cannot be run through a PC.

Can you get it forr the EDC in the base price...then pay the extra for Motronic and/or Gems....or is it the case it comes with Motronic and you have to pay for EDC or GEMS etc on top....???

Yes mine is EDC, but it has Motronic and GEMS options but they are locked.

Yes realised you couldn't run the Nanocom through the PC, if you could it would be a bit of a blow to Faultmate sales.

Don't suppose anyone near Ipswich has got a P38 Nanocom they want to give a demo on ?

If you touch the screen above the EMS code or the EKA code a screen comes up with a keyboard on which you can delete edit or type in a code. I really have not gone into this yet on mine. The user manuals have just been added yesterday to the web site. Need to read these before i can make further comment.

Talk about gremlin's. there are a few spelling errors that need to be sorted. look forward to you findings Wammers

An update BBSV 1.05 has been released today. Have updated mine it sorts out minor text errors and a few other things. Have a problem here at the moment so don't have time to go through it yet. if you go to the Nanocom web site and Email Colin i am sure he can answer your questions for you.
