Can anyone offer some advice? I am trying to replace my ignition coils on my P38 4.6 (Thor Engine) but as the car has been converted to LPG I cannot get the coils and bracket attachment out from behind the engine, dismantled the whole lot before realising I could not get the things out.... (difficult enough to get at anyway....) The only thing that I can think of is to dismantle the coils from the bracket and see if i can get them out individually........Has any one else had this problem?

OK, Have given in and booked it into a garage.....£70......and bought some Magnecor leads to fit .....gotta be worth paying to get rid of the hassle...

Only just bought the car, and the parting shot before I left was "The coils will need replacing at the next service", i have bought a set and tried to replace, but could not get them from behind the engine due to LPG pipes, so have now booked it in to a garage..... The engine is starting to run a little rough (not too bad, but enough) and I am replacing the leads as well.....It looks like someone has already tried to remove the coils before as they are only being held on with one bolt.....

If theres nothing wrong with the coil pack why change them?

previously it was just the odd miss fire when accelerating hard, now it is noticably running a little rough, but besides that it's fine....

I have heard the opposite, that these are prone to it!!!!! mines on the Thor engine not the Gems......if that makes any difference

air flow senser easy to cheeck if you want start up get it warm. get somebody to keep revs up a bit and unplug it tis on your right on big pipe to air filter just pulls out

Fianlly....Got the gargae to replace the Coil. ( they broke it down into two and left the bracket behind the engine and put the new ones in one by one on the old bracket), car runs lovely now.......
