p38 gear box prob help

hi all mates misses p38 diesel borg warner box she went to school pick up kids smoke came up from passenger seat now awful burnt electric smell but it changes gear rapidly now and rev at 3000 no more wondering if the ecu under seat could be an issue any help appreciated

Unusual for the GB ECU to fry...transfer Box ECU has been known to melt...GB is fairly robust...but then again it is a Range Rover and anything is possible!!

If the gearbox ECU had fried i would be surprised if the gearbox worked at all other than engaging drive which is done manually. More likely to be transfer box ecu.

Yep, transfer box ECU and the auto box is ZF not Borg Warner.
Check the transfer box motor is not seized.

Yes, pull it out, pull the lid off and you will most likely find some burtn components
