p38 fuse box

I read some where that this is a servicable item should be changed every 5 yeras . any else heard of this ,as thinking this a nd the bcem can be the only things i have not checked or changed

Haven't heard that. 'If it works don't fix it' would be my motto unless you've got electrical problems. Give it a check underneath for signs of burning.

Fuse box under the bonnet corrodes - crap design and harsh environment they last from memory about 8 to 10 yrs then can give off some very odd electrical faults search on here loads of posts

Had the dreaded open book symbol on the HEVAC. Diagnostics showed no live at terminal 1 on ABS control unit. Had a smell of burning from fuse box under bonnet so I changed it. No more book, problem solved. So if the fuse box smells of burning change it, that's my advice.
