Wouldn't the thermostat isolate that side until it ws warmOr you can start it from cold for a few seconds, stop the motor and release the pressure cap on the header tank, if you have pressure your in trouble.
If the system is pressurising then you will know it.As Brian posted the thermostat is on the return, but anyway, it has a bleed valve/hole which would allow the pressure,if any, past.
True, but the fitter should have drilled it if they knew what they were doing.
