p38(2001) 4.6 stuck in neutral

Hi There,

Am new on here and hoping for a miracle

I was drivingalong yesterday,when all of a sudden my auto gearbix dropped out of drive into neutral.
No sounds,no warning lights..Nothing.

i can select all gears in hi and lo ratio. dashboard displays all gears i have selected perfectly. Reverse lights come on correctly, and the wing mirrors tilt back correctly too.

It just stays in neutral.

Battery is fine
Relays are fine

Any Ideas anyone?

I think it may be a gear sensor but I'm sure if you do a search all will be revealed.

i have trauled web with no joy as yet.
all other solutions involve error codes

remove hi/low motor of t/box rear 4 x 8mm headed bolts twist tirangular shaped shaft with grips left or right ,there are 3 positions hi-neutral-low if you turn it one way as far as it goes and try the car if it drives its the motor at fault

Sounds to me like the transfer box has slipped into NEUTRAL.

In the transfer box it isn't just HIGH and LOW range - there's a Neutral in between.
