Hi all
2000 p38 dhse
I've had the p38 about 8 months now ,drives really well and goes a lot better than expected, I did upgrade from a 300tdi disco mind .
But while swapping my water pump today I've found my vacuum pump is actually connected directly to my map sensor .egr pipes were disconnected before i got the car.
As said the car runs fine with no faults on the nanocom but i shall put the pipework right tomorrow just wondered if anyone could shed some light on how it hasn't effected everything

Connecting the vac pipe to the MAP is unlikely to affect day to day running. Your car has a MAF sensor which replaces most of the functions of the MAP sensor except for over pressure from the turbo if the waste gate fails, at least that is my experience. Certainly reconnect the MAP sensor to the spigot on the manifold for safety if nothing else. As for the EGR, all the pipes are in place on mine except the one that goes to the EGR valve which I block with an M5 screw. I reconnect the pipe just for the MOT here.

Thanks for the reply, I swapped the pipework yesterday and the car still runs the same so I'm happy with that ,still can't believe these temperamental electronics didn't throw a wobbly...
I've seen on the forum that you have modified the AC fans to enable the removal of the viscus, I've never been a fan of viscus fans ,if you'll excuse the pun ,can I dm you my email for the details....
