Hello,
My name is Glynn Davies and I am now bald
, I have pulled all my hair out due to stress
. Being a Range Rover P38 2.5 DHSE (BMW 2,5 Turbo diesel) owner is the reason for this unfortunate calamity
.
I am hoping someone out there can help me?
I am prepared to pay for advice that will get me back on the road. The problem started approx 3 months back. I parked the car one evening and did not use the car for approx 4 days at which point I found the battery was completely flat
(Bearing in mind this battery was brand new replacement 1 week before the problems started. I recharged the battery and tried to start the car. The cars starter motor was dead. The strange thing was that normally I would have had to input the EKA to re-mobilise the car. Not now, if the battery is disconnected and then re-connected the alarm fob will open the doors and if I try to start the car after 30 seconds the message centre states the vehicles engine is disabled please press key fob, I press key fob and the message centre then states start vehicle. The car just will not turn over. When I turn to position 3 I can hear some clicking near the ignition key and in the drivers door (outstation possibly).
The key fob will reliably open and lock the central locking but the key will not, to use the key I have to use the EKA, once that is done the key in the drivers door will operate the central locking as it should, this is until I return to the car say next day and try the key in the drivers door to operate the central locking and extinguish the alarm led on the dash and it fails, it will only open the drivers door. I have since had another new battery installed this week and as soon as the new battery was connected the message centre advised alternator fault (This has since disappeared).
Does anyone have any ideas what this can be? I have tried jumpering relay 16 with no success.
Thank you in anticipation that someone will reply!
Rgds
