Original headunit?

Hi All,

Is there any way of telling what headunit was originally fitted to my P38?

The previous owner has removed all but the grey connector and doesn't know what make of stereo was originally fitted.

I have the cd changer in the boot and Harmon Kardon speakers, I haven't checked for the sub in the boot but presume it should be there?

The last owner had an aftermarket headunit installed but he said there was a hum when using it.

Ideally I would like to revert back to original but need to know what headunit to get. Below is what I'm left with in the car.

Any ideas?

Ah ok I did wonder. I'm waiting for local stealer to get back to me with build sheet and a new fob.

I presume once I know the wiring diagrams are in rave?

Where can I get the original connectors from?

hi , ring emmotts of colne , speak to jess or liam , give them year and type etc and they will have sockets , radio unit , connectors etc etc , just tell them what u need ,,, tell them mozz sent u , and tell em your landyzone member .. all good, great firm to deal with ,,,, order by 3pm delivered a,m. next day also great prices ...cheers mozz

spot on mate thanks for that.. They having a look at my photos to see if they can match up the wiring with the original system as mine falls right on change over.

If the cd changer has a bulge on the front cover it was the clarion, if it has a flat front it was the alpine..

Ok checked and have the bulge on cover of cd changer. Also manage to get bit of build info from stealers today. Got my serial number for the original radio. Did a search on radiocode.co.uk and it's saying clarion as well. So am I right in saying I should of had the pink connector.

Are there different models of clarion head units?

yep the pink connector. i cant tell you if there were changes between clarion types, maybe after some years, if you get a clarion from around the same model year it'll be the correct one.
