hi all doing a few jobs today on my range rover and noticed that front drivers strut was weeping. Obviously it needs replacing but just wondered do I replace with on oem strut (not **** part though) or should I go for an uprated gas strut. Would there be any difference with an uprated one. Like the title says im looking for an opinion with the pros and cons of both. cheers jason

Whilst some have spent silly money on 'upgrades' the level heads reckon that you can't beat the original Boge for a good combination of road holding and comfort.

I fitted all terrain shocks all round on mine. My original shocks were hanging and gave a very wallowing ride. The A.T's firmed it up a lot and give a lot of feed back at the cost of that plush deep pile carpet ride.

I live in a little village in lincolnshire and the roads all around me aren't the best my mk5 golf tdi gets thrown all over the place so you can imagine what it does to a big wallowing p38. didn't want to put firmer shocks on if they wouldn't make much difference. I do a little off roading in it but nothing like what some on here do

You definitely need new shocks if as you say the P38 is wallowing. A P38 properly shod and shocked does not wallow, they are fairly taut. OEM shocks are good enough no need to spend silly money on tricked up, bulled up makes.

cheers guys new shocks ordered was just going to do the front two but stuff if all 4 are getting replaced they aren't expensive and if im getting my hands dirty doing the front two I might as well do the back two:)
