Hi,
I first bought my '04 TD4 freelander in July and everything was fine until the weather got a little colder. I have to move it each morning to get my motorbike out and so start it reverse, keeping the engine running whilst I get the bike out and then move it back. When I switch the engine off there is a high pitched whine thats last for about a minute or two and what looks like exhaust gases coming from the front left. Upon inspection there is a small diameter (1cm ish) tube coming straight down, out of the engine tray just behind the bumper.
Is this normal? What does this tube connect to and why is there gases coming from it and why is it whinning? I thought it might be the turbocharger
Thanks for any help.
Chris
