Nothings Ever EASy These Days

Swapped out my original block but replacement compressor. Reset the system using my laptop and she's working beautifully. The other block wouldn't allow the car to lower using the up/down switch. I tried to lower but she sat unmoving even though the lights flashed... So I'm guessing the block is faulty? As said, my original works fine. But I'll be checking in the morning.

So what would cause a block to lower when all the "o" rings are perfect and there are no leaks showing?

Driver pack.

Driver pack.

Checked just now and she's as I left her last night. I don't think she's dropped at all! If she has, then it's possibly a couple of mm....

So. I believe you may be right Mr W, is the driver pack the small black flat box bolted to the block?

If so, I could possibly source another, but I rebuilt the valve block so hopefully it's ok. The motor is fine so all is happy again.

....although I still can't find my CC fault! Though it was the wheel, but I cant imagine why it would go from working to not simply after I removed the CC controller from the valve block so either it's the brake pedal hoodgy, the wiring to the controller or perhaps as suggested the BECM forgot that it was connected in the 1st place.

But here's a weird thing, some days my indicators tick, other days they don't

Ghosties?? :D

Ahh that"s because some days you indicate where your going and some days you do not:D:D ..And yes the box on the side of the valve block control's the valve block ,If you use your original driver pack if that"s the good one and its set to your height settings so the valve block should do as instructed ..in theory;)

Driver pack has nothing stored in it. It's just a slave of the ECU that does have the settings stored.

Ok the known good driver pack should control any valve block to stored settings ,didnt mean they were stored in driver pack ,,,,geezzz your so .ha ha ha :D:D:D:D:D And now im running away

Of sheer knowledge!!!;)

I always indicate my intention to change my direction of travel

That is how I know some days they tick & some days they don't ;)

She's still all the way up :)

I may not have mentioned, but I adjusted the full height down by 5 bits per corner and since then she seems happy.

Sounded a lot like that's what you were saying to be honest. The driver pack just handles the higher voltages needed to open, close and slow drop solenoid valves that the ECU can't handle. ECU sends a signal drive pack obeys or at least sometimes it does. When it stops obeying or a component fails in it and the electrical feedback confuses the ECU the problems start. ;);)

Where the driver pack plugs in can be a bit dicky. You have to clean and pinch up the connectors so they grip nice and tight.

1st thing I did before putting it back together was check wires & twist the pins ever so slightly to make sure the had a firm contact. Today, drove to friends garage & back with the "motorway" switch off so she dropped & lifted as she should at all different speeds required.

Very happy .... so far :p:D
