Found them.
Found them.
They look just like Arnott Gen 2 but at a bargain price wish I'd seen them before I fitted Dunlop to the Project car. Or are they a Chinese rip off?

Thats the question, I reckon copies..They look just like Arnott Gen 2 but at a bargain price wish I'd seen them before I fitted Dunlop to the Project car. Or are they a Chinese rip off?
Arnott Gen 2 have always had plastic end caps.Gen 2 have plastic caps now.
There are several companies other than Arnott that make airsprings, just never found another one that makes them for a P38Thats the question, I reckon copies..
Thanks for clearing that up.They are chinese rip offs, the crimp bands come away after a week and the diaphragms do not last long rolling over the steel piston as its cheap rubber. Death trap chinese crap mate
i have had 3 customers buy them and all 3 complained how thin the rubber diaphragms were and the crimp bands gave way, they even look cheap lolThanks for clearing that up.
There is nothing like customer feedback for sorting the wheat from the chaffi have had 3 customers buy them and all 3 complained how thin the rubber diaphragms were and the crimp bands gave way, they even look cheap lol
I tried to tell one guy not to buy them , he said they looked cool compared to the Dunlop onesThere is nothing like customer feedback for sorting the wheat from the chaff

The only problem is that a full set of gen 3's would cost me double what I paid for the car.Thought someone mentioned aluminium in a post?
I've had 2 gen 2 bags fail but the gen 3 bags are absolutely superb. So was the customer service from Arnott.
When I got my Gen 2's 10 years ago they were on offer at a price not much more than the Dunlop's. The Gen 2's still look like new, I'm sure that would not be the case with the Dunlop's, so for me they have been a good buy. I agree that Gen 3 are a waste of money unless you are a serious off road enthusiaste. As far as i am aware Gen II are same as Gen III apart from the Gen III has extra lift. Unless you modify the sensor arms and shocks you are never going to use that. So a waste of money for a road vehicle. The Dunlops are a lot cheaper, OE and do the job very well. So i see no point in replacing them with either Gen II or Gen III. Unless you like spending money that doe not need to be spent.

The gen 3 is aluminium at the bottom which worries me as it sits on steel. The ride is noticeably better, maybe 10% smoother. The construction is more robust and solid compared to the gen 2 bag. I don't like the Voss connectors used by Arnott at the moment. There is no noticeable difference in ride between the gen 2 and Dunlop. As you say, the gen 3 allows extra travel if you modify shocks and sensors. Pity they are so damned expensive.
My Dunlop bags were looking bad at 7 years. Dopey had gen 2 Arnotts and after 10 years they look like new. The Dunlop bags from Island are made under license in China.
But this Chinese product hasn't broken yet... UnfortunatelyEverything is made in china these days. Even diseases.
Dunlop's 8 years 80K miles max. Arnott Gen 2's 10 years and counting. Is there any consensus on the life span of airbags, btw, from you lads that have owned a LR for years?
