Sounds really good Paul .... But are slippery rock descents/accents gonna be do-able for folks like me with little experience ...oh and I might just bypass the 40 degree side winder too :D
You and graigyB and others I'm sure have put so much effort into this , I'm sure I can speak for the others going and say that it is very much appreciated , big slap on the back :D
Can I just say as well before someone like Drewster pooh poohs me ..it's ok having a defender and folks say you can go anywhere , do anything , but if you lack confidence like I do , it can still seem like the hardest challenge in the world.

The 'slipperiness' totally depends on conditions. If it's damp and drizzle it's usually OK but can be slippery, if it's very wet it conversely gets slightly better grip! Snow/ice I'll probably go a different route, but we'll cross that when we come to it. Dry absolutely fine. The slipperiness is mostly 'cos the rocks roll a bit, but they can be done on road tyres in standard Discos. See it as a small challenge! If necessary your leader will help and talk you down via CB ...

Had second thoughts, pretty quickly, last night and took the pictures of the routes and lane list down .. Too politically sensitive to advertise them, and too easy for 'guests', shall we say, to abuse the lanes if spoon-fed them!

I've included a small picture of the whole route and the alternatives, but hopefully at low-res so it's take a lot of work for nutters to get any good info off it! yellow main route, purple fords alternative, blue sideways alternative.

What I am trying to do at school during the week is to get A3 Laminated copies of the route so everyone can get a very basic idea of the route we're going.

If anyone has issues, for example if anyone wants to forego the sideways route, it'll be easier to point out a road bypass route and meeting point further down the route.

However, I would urge everyone to have a go at this one, it's a corker and gives a real sense of achievement when you do it, especially the first time!
Similarly, I would like to do the fords, but I'll leave that up to the group and is why I added it as an alternative. The ford that's on the route proper is just off the actual route so isn't an issue of bypassing, just waiting while others do it.

Right looking forward to this, and just as excited to be meeting some of you .. ;)

Looks like a great route, and varied too. Looking forward immensely to a cracking day out and catching up with LZ folks.
