If the tow bar is mounted high up it can fail as there is a legal hight something like between 350mm to 450mm as a gess off my head,

The rear seatbelt mounting point will be close to the corroded archs.

The towing electrics is new on mots, if you have a towbar that's for off road just remove it for the test, he carnt fail it for having the bracket,
