Pump

ive got a fooked 19j engine in my aunties garage that i think i melted the pistons on it....

If you need a pump badly and they arnt too much of a #### to remove then u can have it if you pay the postage.

Looks good, same type . Got to be better than the one I have. Tried to load pics if insides... Failed.... Didn't seem to like photies from my iPhone JPG so don't know what issue was . Discomania PM me how you want paid bank transfer or PayPal etc thanks again

Thanks for the kind offer Iamrobbie. disco mania has already stripped one off for me. Not difficult to remove with the right tools . Cam cover holder and puller for the pump pulley. Hopefully now I've got new ignition switch the glow plugs will also work, just need to fit injector pump, rebuild dash and the front of engine. Maybe it'll all go well

Can I have it instead then pretty please with a cherry on top for some beer tokens and a big kiss:lvfrench-kiss-008: as mines just started leaking diesel like a tap and I nearly bought a discovery yesterday for an engine swap

Email me the photos I would be keen to see failed innards. I've rebuilt these pumps before but never been anything too hectic inside.

I'll upload them here if you want too.

I've emailed you about paypal, but bank transfer is good too.

Just wanting to hear you've got your landy fixed now!

Where is it leaking from?

If you look at it from underneath there's a disc like jobber I've replaced the rubber seals but it is literally pouring out

Replace the 2 O-rings and seal up with a little bit of hylomar or similar at the very base and you should be sorted.

Let all the diesel drain out and try and clean up the thread, let it tack up before you refill the pump with diesel.

Thanks for that I'll give it a go, if all else fails then TDI here we come. Hopefully not the wives suggestion 'scrap the unreliable piece of crap and buy a decent car like a Suzuki Jimny'

Decent?!?!? Is she kidding.

What she forgets is that your TD is just old. The Suk wouldn't be on the road now if it was that age.

With plenty funds your Landy could be minted and very reliable, and look as smart as a brand new one, a Suk would still be a Suk and you'd look like a hairdresser!

Well it's going now .... BUT not very well , blowing white smoke so must be the timing of the inj pump. Started it with a few blasts of easy start then gradually the diesel took over now starts after quite a bit of cranking. I've seen reference to good post about setting up the inj pump timing (Charles Y)( anyone got the link ?) thought it was ok arrows lined up etc , but the injector pump is hard against the slot clockwise ( looking from front of engine) if I ease the pump round to the centre of the slot is that going to help ( or is that the wrong direction ? or is it likely its a tooth out on the belt ?

Well engine running as per later post with your injector pump Discomania, so thanks mate . Still got some issues with blowing some white smoke but much better than before. All my problems does however prove that the 19j will infect run when the timing belt is set up at TDC on the Pistons rather than just the crank mark and the flywheel locking pin position So learnt something . ;)

I did a 300tdi install to a 2.5NA - just sat the 300tdi slightly further back - basically in the same position as the 2.5NA.

I did eventually fit a R380 but used a military short shaft which makes for a stronger box.
