I say "well done that man".No, it's 3 days after all, (almost a lifetime for something that only lives 3.25 days)
Anyhooooo, perchance she phoned me, with the good news, I replied "I didn't think we stood that close to each other", heheh
Ok, NO oil has returned, not even a tiny blob.
What say you?
If the fan kicks in reliable when it should why change the sensor? Certainly do the stat. Does the fan spin freely? Had a few that would spin & then partially seize.Well folks, the old pug has done a couple of K since last posting, owner religiously checked the coolant before every major trip......checking oil level and coolant for contamination.
It did a 900 mile trip with no issue......
BUT......oil has returned in the coolant
It apparently got hot in a traffic jam!!
No water in the oil, fan kicks in as expected.
Soo, Ordered a new Oil cooler, fluids, flush agent, filters and a new reservoir, but I've informed her it may yet be the HG.
Probably should do thermostat and fan sw.?
Also look at the the coolant pressure cap, lack of pressure will cause an overheat.Van not in my hands yet, but I'm sure I checked fan last time round, but I'll check it both cold and hot this time.
Was thinking sensor sw due to age really, and the fact it overheated in traffic where it's worked hard,
I don't mind sharing, especially with you Brian we both prefer the older modelsIf head casket was gone water to oil, when you turn of the engine off there is still pressure in the cooling system so water would then get in to oil.
dam to slow typing HC beat me, better not let Alan know he might get the wrong idea.
