Hi all I have a very noisy low pressure fuel pump behind the rear wheel on my FL1 and wondered if this might have something to do with the rough idling when started at cold.

Normally idle problems are down to injectors, as small inaccuracies in injector volume or spray pattern, makes the largest proportionate difference to the engine.

The LP pump shouldn't be noisy though.

Thanks m8 I did suspect the injectors but today noticed the noisy pump so before I tackle the injectors Ive ordered a new LP pump and filter. Thanks for the quick reply is there a quick check to which injector is at fault ?

Run a few bottles of Comma Diesel Magic through the system. That's a good cleaner, and can restore injectors that have spray pattern issues.

Thank you so much for your help im lookimg forward to getting this FL1 up to scratch so I will get some comma diesel magic tomorrow and see how we go. Thanks again m8

Sometimes a noisy low pressure pump is due to it being a replacement non OEM version. Mine is the same, works ok but the sound gets a little annoying after a while! Trying to find an OEM version to replace it but they're not cheap!

I heard one the other day that was changing tone while the car was idling, I'm thinking pump or filter or both are needing attention? What happens if you don't empty the sediment pot and it fills up??

Cheers again I kmow its a daft question but do i put that in the fuel tank ?
Yes. I put one bottle to half a tank for an initial dose. It can't hurt to put in more than needed, in fact the engine runs nicer with Diesel Magic in the tank.
