i have a 95 4.0 range rover
i started it yesterday but it needed a new jump start (new battery needed).ran it for about 5 mins and turned it off.
replaced the air box as i didnt have on fitted, plugged in the air sensor and noticed the wire needed stretching to plug into box.
tried starting it after and it tried to run but didnt.
as it as freezing i left it till today and put battery on charge.

new 8mm ht leads and plugs arrived today
changed plugs and leads,i think i put them back in the right place.

from front of car looking at it,
drivers side bank is 1,3,5,7
passenger bank 2,4,6,8
is this correct?
coil pack from drivers to passenger side
1,6,5,8,4,7,2,3 ?

car tries to start then blows back or hydraulic`s up.
to me it is firing wrong but that`s what the manual says,or am i being thick?

help needed as i want to tax tommorow and go play in the snow
cheers
dave

read the manual and i did as it described, but no go.
i tried to remove a lead at a time but i got impatient and took them all off, knowing i had a manual to look at,how wrong i was! lol

cheers guys for your answers

Cyl 1 is on the passenger side,(RHD) at the front nearest the air filter. If you look carefully the steel bracket has the plug lead order stamped in it across the top.

Thanks for that, manual shows drivers side front is no1 bank.
So I am well out with firing order.

Thanks to all that answered
Dave
