No power when pulling away.

So my thinking:
If you have so little power that you cant pull away from a standstill i doubt you'd be able to accelerate upto any kind of speed.
That leads me to think that its not a problem with your engine developing power but rather getting the power through to the ground.

Lets say you at a standstill and you try to pull away what exactly happens? After you give throttle does the engine rev up really high but the car not move? Does the engine not rev up at all?

With the gearbox in neutral does the engine rev freely or does it splutter and struggle to get to speeds above idle?

Id say check your atf level and if its fine then do a torque converter stall test.

Been a while since I drove it, so cant remember for sure. But I think it revved ok in neutral and half revved in gear while sorta moving off.

Will put it back together then and start re-testing with torque converter the focus for now.
