Mate, you have three threads running on the same vehicle, "Newbie from Glasgow", "Gumtree ad" and this one. Lots of members read your threads and some of them post on them. Any of us can check the MOT history, especially when you post pics of your vehicle without blanking out the number!! (See advert on gumtree!) (Thieves can see these too, but no matter.) Which is how we know that corrosion at the rear was evident in 2016.
Considering Kevstar hails from The banks of Loch Lomond I doubt he is an MOT tester in West Lothian, but not impossible. (Without the V5 or whatever it is called today, we cannot tell which MOT testing station did the MOT, but you could, if you are bothered, if you do not have the paper copy.)
You've got 7 months to get your MOT which should be enough. But it is fun for us seeing how many of the things on our checklists turn up on your vehicle. Keep reading the posts, buy a few basic tools and a diagnostics reader and be ready to do some of the work yourself and you will keep your costs down. You'll get there but for your own sanity, do not throw money at main dealers and cowboys.
