Right thats it..i'm heading over to the west midlands in staffordshire.

Nope...i've removed the stalk on the steering column and bypassed that to see if it was the stalk (wasn't)..and the wireing from that goes straight thru bulkhead and down the wing to headlight...the high beam works on 'flash' from the indicator stalk though, so bulbs ok...i was confused yesterday, but had some ideas to try, today i've hit a brick wall!

Ah John...you are partially correct...the left hand light is a sealed unit..the right one isn't..lol..but both have one bulb that has both high and low beam.
and do they work?

Well no...but my sidelights and indicators are the work of an electrical bafoon*
Can you take the bulb out and put jumpers off the battery to see which side is working hi or low
* would have to agree with this.
You've lost me...if i take the bulb out i'm not going to be any wiser at all
I'd be completely in the dark.
Says the person that cannot spell buffoon...

To see if the wire is bad to the lites or the buld. like jumping the switch in the steering column yesterday
