Hi and happy new year to you all,
The other week I had one of my front wheel bearings replaced due to a strange grating noise coming from the front end.
Now, what has happened seems to be two-fold.
In the first place the noise is still there and by what a mate of mine has told me it looks like something he called the "shimms" in the front diff might have gone and need replacing.
The second part of the problem is now I have no ABS nor Traction Control (and yes, the control panel lights say likewise). This we guess is due to the guys in the garage having the beast on the lift and putting it into gear to get the wheels spinning to find out where the noise was coming from in the first place.
Does anybody out there know how to restore the ABS/Traction Control or is it a case of having to go to the local Landy dealers (the thieving so & so's over here in Portugal) to get the system re-set?
Back to the noise problem. Are the shimms the likely culprit and if so are they easy to get a hold of and fit?
Hope someone can help.
All the best,
Phil
