Too much plastic, too much electronics, Variable vane turbocharger and other stuff...
Like L-series because it's simple. And it will run even with many electrics issues (for example it will run with CKP failed Td4 don't).

looking good winu.

did you rip off the diesel cooler yet?

im with you on the L series. It is why I went for one over getting a TD4 too. I hate modern engines, all this fancy electronic rubbish.

It is ;)

We've got here about 30-35 ambient temp now. Modded l-series like to heat everything all around.

Well on a hot day here (around 26) on a long run (300 miles ish) the temp on the fuel return didnt go above 38 degrees.

just saying :p no point in having something in there if you dont need it.

Well,
I got (after cruise @ 70mph)

-125 *C of oil @ 3,5 Bar run /1.25 bar idle . Like to go to 130C on long acceleration periods and that great sound comes "Ding Ding Ding"...
-96-98 *C of coolant
-Fuel outing from engine - 59C
-Fuel outing from cooler 43C
-IAT after IC measured in intake manifold 44-45C (will go down when put the fans on)
-EGT @70mph 450*C /10 PSI of boost
-EGT on speeding up 600*C / 19 PSI of boost
-Engine compartment temperature 60*C

So a little bit hot in some moments I think. I need to add a oil cooler for sure. Maybe some heat insulation on exhaust manifold and turbocharger

what fan are you installing on the IC? I've been thinking on adapting a fan from a japanese 4x4 (there are a few of them on a breaker nearby) but all the ones I've seen pull the air through from behind the IC and the Freelander needs one that pushes from the front...

isnt a fan just introducing a blockage in front of the thing you are trying to cool,

which also requires power...

which needs power from the alternator...

which needs power from the engine...

generating heat and sapping engine output power

yes minimal... but it all adds up!

blockage? have you seen the place where they've mounted the IC?
most of it is blocked by the bumper.
