Just a thought ... why don't you have a "Time Out" section where newbs can start to chat ... when they have made so many posts then give them access to AG with warnings about content, etc ...

Maybe AG could be a subforum of the time out area and maybe even password protected so they have to ask to join :) x

Perhaps it would be better if noobs were automatically banned for one week so they actually read the forum and get a feel for how it works first before they jump in and try to make it run how they want.

Not aimed specifically at you LardiGirl, just a general thought for the forum owners to consider.

Actually I joined a few days before I posted and had a good look round. :)

Not aimed at you Gratch ... just also a general observation x

If your condition affects your cognitive abilities so much, maybe you ought to surrender your license.

That or you are a troll, you need a good memory to maintain a "front"…

You've started contradicting yoursen or your condition is affecting your memory.

Off to bed now but should be back on about 0830.

Why?

Why not?
There is a set of rules that all joining say they have read, There is stickies at the top of all topics and a warning before you go into AG.
Lets just give the stupid, obviously not the clever ones who can read, noobs something else they can ignore before whinging about tyres, selling, nastiness in AG, and trolls (no one in particular, just sayin)
Constructive post 3, soon be sellin that tat.

No idea wot your onnabout bushwack  perhaps it would be better to call troll again in AG though :)

The initiation to be accepted into a AG may be a tad off putting for some. There is also a chance that existing members would prefer to chat about anything not Landy related in a less (shall we say) OTT forum. Nothing to stop existing members nipping between the two but remembering that the timeout section or whatever it would be called isn't anything goes. x

Is AG really so bad that people should feel the need to work up to posting in there?

IMHO, if someone is so socially awkward that they can't join in a conversation in an online forum, then they've probably got bigger issues with fitting into society, in which case, a remedial/special needs sub-forum probably isn't going to make much difference.

Twas just a thought in the light of a couple of other threads in here ... works on other forums :)

You're frightening me and making me feel socially awkward!!

 You're too persistant for a troll...

You obviously haven't got the hang of LZ still, I've been a member four years and seen the old guard wither; some were banned (and returned in some cases), Vagrent, Jonnycurt, Bob (all widely missed) and Ming petered out (Ming may just be away on business :D), trolls are reasonably common. We do have a few that last a while, Fizzyhund being notable.
One post wonders are ten a penny.

The good thing about LZ is the banter and genuinely usefull info given to anyone who sticks around and doesn't make themselves a target by posting ****e and not getting a feel for the forum.

I'm an active member of about half a dozen different car, aviation and history fora and a non-posting member of a few more.
The reason I don't post actively on some is either because I have nothing [generally] usefull to add or I just like to view from the side lines.
On other fora, I post when there is summat relevant or in my field of knowledge but I don't start new threads for the sake of it.

A couple of fora are restricted until you have a certian number of relevant, moderated posts,

to be able to post in members only sections.

LZ is LZ, the swear filter is quite a recent addition here, previously, it could get a bit sweary...

My personnal suggestion is that if you don't like it, leave or try www.arrse.co.uk

I ain't going nowhere ... I love it :D ... I'm sure there are plenty of Landy owners who are a tad more sensetive than me but would still like to part of the community ;) x

Don't worry, it sounds as though we are going to employ care workers to hold the hands of anyone who can't cope with normal conversation without peeing on the floor and licking the nearest window.

Some windows taste of cake but you cant tell just by looking.

True story :)
