New to the site, good afternoon!

I just found the site today, whilst browsing, looking for an idea as to the new noise my 200Td1 Rangie is making. It doesn't appear to affect the operation of the vehicle and the MoT tester couldn't throw any light on it, it's a 'chuffing' noise emanating from the vac pump for the servo, (exactly where I'm not sure). As the vehicle works for it's living and is running fine otherwise, I haven't taken it to pieces for a look. I guess it's a seal or a gasket that's failed. Has anybody any thoughts on the subject ? Am I barking up the wrong tree ? Will I end up with a workshop full of springs and bits as I dismantle it ? Does your chewing gum lose its flavour on the bedpost overnight ? and other very important questions !!
