The radiator in my 200tdi is getting a bit tat, while not leaking at least half of the cooling fins have gone missing. The present rad is the all metal original type fitted some ten years ago.
The choice is original metal type, mixed ali plastic,or all aluminum type.
What experiences have forum members had with the different types? My Landy does a lot of rattling around over rough ground which might be why the fins have gone walkabout.

My experience of new rads is very poor - I'd be getting the original recored - OR get an original recored - I.E. one from a scrapper and then swap with your old one, which would still work in an emergency .....:)

+2. Modern stuff is built down to a price, not up to a quality

Problem I have with a recore is the nearest I can find is 80 miles away!
[ I live next to the back of beyond lighthouse which Kevin Bacon say's you can get a mobile signal. HA HA ]

I use the local Massey ferguson dealer .... they have a contract with a third party recoring firm, and Massey's own courier do all the ferrying about as part of the price/service....:)

Worth a phone call or two to your local tractor places..... ;)

I replaced my original 1990 rad in my 200 TDi with a Aluminum one. Think I paid about £80 for it. When I took out the original I could see the build quality was no where near the same.If I was doing it again I would get the original recored. I kept the old one in my garage as I can see the new Ali one isn't going to last anywhere near the same.
