So did you have the wrong rad in from the get go?
Crap material??????
when they tell you not worth repairing it means 2 things either they do not know how or don't have the right equipment. Our radiators must be different than yours then, Have never seen one that could not be repaired, unless smashed to fook in a accident.
West slope had 1 in his p38 was leaking and new was like $400, I told him to go to rad shop and fixed for about $120. most repairs can be done for less than 1/2 of new here, closer to 1/3 really
All the radiators have looked the same and weighed the same. But the two that i have gone through have both had the baffles missing to provide the correct coolant flow within the core.
Crap materials, as they have plastic end tanks and alloy cores.. So nothing can be done to them, bar, some platic welding if a crack appears or fixing of the core etc.. But basically its throw away part...
Labour rates must be lower where you are.... certainly not cheap here.
